The largest back to school supply drive in Missouri, rallying the support of the entire St. Louis community. With community drop-off locations, Push for Pencils / Push for Change partners collect brand new school supplies and equip local students who live in poverty, with the essential supplies desperately needed for back to school success.
CLOSESince 2002, KidSmart has partnered with the Missouri Department of Corrections. Each school year, 1000+ offenders in Missouri correctional facilities donate 500,000+ hours of their time to create educational and learning materials for the students KidSmart serves.
CLOSEThe KidSmart On the Go! truck takes KidSmart’s services “on the road” and into the classrooms to equip 100% of the students in impoverished neighborhoods with free school supplies.
CLOSEThe need for free school supplies is year-round. Each month throughout the school year, members of the Annual Giving Club provide a box filled with free school supplies for local students in a local classroom in need.
CLOSEVolunteers are the glue and foundational support of KidSmart. Volunteers are needed every day to sort and stock supplies and donations for students in need.
CLOSEKidSmart is a proud affiliate of the Kids In Need Foundation, national network, helping distribute nationally sourced supplies to students in Missouri. The Kids In Need Foundation partners with Free Store organizations, in major cities across the country, to distribute much needed school supplies to kids who would otherwise go without.

Go Back to School with Joe Buck and celebrate 16 years of Joe’s one-of-a-kind celebrity event, benefitting KidSmart and 90,000 local kids in need. Each year the Back To School with Joe Buck event raises the financial support necessary for KidSmart to equip St. Louis children with $1 million dollars in FREE school supplies for back to school. Corporate partners and local celebrities are back this year for a game style competition. Local executive chefs cook live and top restaurants prepare “Dinner D’lites” while enjoying live entertainment.
