Development Manager

Position Title: Development Manager
Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
Supervisor: Director of Development   

Position Summary:

  • Manage portfolio of mid-level ($100-$1,000) prospects.
  • Qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of above for outright gifts.
  • Conduct personal calls on portfolio prospects
  • Perform prospect and data entry, as needed.
  • Assist other areas and members of the Development Team as needed.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree plus two years fundraising or not-for-profit development experience with an emphasis on program management and donor relations.
  • Strong organizational and management skills 
  • Project management and budgeting/financial planning skills essential 
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally in a variety of professional and social settings.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office; including, Word, Excel, Access, & Outlook.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, maintain individual relations to increase individual donor base in aggregate and in moving donors through the pyramid of giving
  • Set aggressive fundraising goals and successfully manage meeting those goals
  • Assist in the conception, planning, and execution of special events/donor events, activities, and projects to raise funds/product donations and increase awareness of KidSmart
  • Assist with budgeting and annual report
  • Implement and manage donor relations recognition plan
  • Manages the coordination and implementation of the Show & Tell program
  • Develop and produce monthly internal reports and Board of Director reports reflecting progress of donor development relative to KidSmart goals and strategic plan
  • Able to strategically execute projects in a fast-paced, deadline-based environment
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, team-player personality
