Emerson KidSmart Celebrity Spelling Bee Tickets On Sale Now!

Can you spell s-u-c-c-e-s-s for local kids in need? Ozzie Smith, Joe Buck, Kevin Horrigan, Patricia Miller, Cornbread, Van Lorenz, Ralph Butler and Charlie Brennan hope they can.

These celebrities, and more than 600 corporate sponsors and volunteers, are expected to help spell success for KidSmart on Thursday, May 10 at the Emerson KidSmart Celebrity Spelling Bee.

This year's Bee will be held at The Pageant, 6161 Delmar Boulevard, with a cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m. and the live auction and spelling bee starting at 7 p.m.

The cocktail hour will feature dinner by the bite provided by Michael Johnson Catering and drinks sponsored by Major Brands. The evening will also include a live auction with packages that include, a party featuring The Ralph Butler Band, Lasik eye surgery and a trip to Universal Studios. Guests will be greeted by the Carr Lane Middle School Drum Line on the red carpet.

Joe Buck will serve as emcee for the night while celebrities, paired up with a champion child speller and a corporate sponsor, will compete in the spelling bee. In addition to celebrity spellers, three local school principals will serve as judges.  This year's celebrities include:

KidSmart was established in 2002 to help local kids in need succeed in school by providing them with free school supplies. Since 2002 KidSmart has distributed more than $5 million in school supplies and educational materials to more than 40,000 St. Louis area kids in need. There are 40,000 area students still in need of KidSmart's services.
