Rohan Woods Students Come Together for KidSmart
Whoever said, "there is no such thing as a small part, just small people," could not have described the senior kindergartners at Rohan Woods any better. On Friday, March 16, the senior kindergartners hosted their annual KidSmart school supply drive.
The 120 students of Rohan Woods, an independent school in Warson Woods, provided KidSmart with numerous boxes filled with the Fab Five school supplies: pencils, crayons, markers, paper, and glue. The supply drive also provided book bags, notebooks, folders, and other various school supplies for local kids in need who benefit from the KidSmart Free Store. The supply drive, which was initially implemented by the senior kindergartners, has grown in popularity and awareness to include the whole school.
Maddie, a Rohan Woods fifth-grader noted the importance of helping the students served by KidSmart, "The supply drive is important because it gives kids who need supplies stuff they can call their own. They will have their own backpack that they can use to carry all the other supplies, like pencils and crayons and scissors that are now theirs. It will make learning fun."
