Shop on Saturdays!
Due to a generous donation made by the William T. Kemper Foundation, KidSmart will now be open for shopping on Saturdays throughout the 2007-2008 school year.The top reason teachers report they are unable to shop at KidSmart to get free school supplies for their kids in need is convenience of shopping times. “Being able to open on Saturdays will enable many more teachers to be able to take advantage of our services and to help KidSmart distribute school supplies to local children. This will also allow us to open up more volunteer shifts to staff shopping,” reports Natalie Ellis, KidSmart Store Operations Manager
KidSmart piloted Saturday shopping on four Saturdays in Spring 2007. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Saturdays are anticipated as being the busiest shopping day of the week.
KidSmart will be open for shopping from 10:30am-1:30pm. Eligible teachers may elect to shop any Saturday for their month shopping time. KidSmart will need extra volunteers to support Saturday shopping.
