Boeing Gives Over 60,000 Supplies
This week Boeing, one of our FANTASTIC corporate donors, dropped off all the supplies they raised this year for Push for Pencils. So far, their donations is the largest single donation we have received this August. Mandi writes a quick thank you below to all the individuals at Boeing who contributed:
2 weeks + Boeing employees + generous hearts and giving hands = over 60,000 school supplies!
I am amazed and proud to know such a fine group of individuals who make their corporation stand out in a league of its own. Congratulations, Boeing for providing the essential tools for learning to the 45,000 kids in need we serve.

Push for Pencils Updates
As of Tuesday August 12th, Push for Pencils has raised 25,431 supplies for St. Louis kids in need, as well as $3,360 which will go to purchasing additional supplies for these students. Thank you to everyone who has made a donation this month. We are off to a GREAT start in this supply drive, but we only have 19 more days to reach our ultimate goal of 385,000 supplies and $50,000. Ask me how you can help make a difference!

MasterCard, Purina, and Clayco Make Great Donations to KidSmart
Today Mandi, our Manager of Corporate Donor Relations, is guest blogging for us, sharing updates on three of our fantastic corporate sponsors: MasterCard, Purina, and Clayco…
Today, there was an amazing group of MasterCard employees who helped to put smiles on the faces of Griffith Elementary students by delivery backpacks filled with school supplies for all! What a GREAT way to start the school year and it was only their second day – much success is in store for the year to come!
Purina’s Push for Pencils supply drive collected 7,411 items today as their AMAZING contribution to helping us with our mission to empower kids in need to succeed in school by providing them with the essential tools for learning! Push for Pencils is one way Purina supports KidSmart and helps to make the future of the kids we serve even brighter! THANK YOU, Purina!
Clayco is well on their way to providing supplies to our future generation – I hear through the grapevine that many Clayco employees are more than generous when the Crunch Cards come around!! Keep up the good work, Clayco!!!

Push for Pencils Updates are coming…
Push for Pencils has officially been going for 12 days now. It’s hard to believe we are almost half way through the drive! A lot of our drive participants have already made great donations for our kids, and I hope to have some totals for you in the next day or so. I cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone who donates to Push for Pencils… this supply drive makes everything we do at KidSmart possible. Without it, the number of kids we are able to serve would be substantially lower… so THANK YOU for making a difference in the life of our St. Louis students.

Mastercard Stuffs 350 Backpacks
Hi yall! I’m Sean, and I’m an intern at KidSmart from Georgia. As the summer comes to an end (it’s really cool outside today!), let me just say what a wonderful time I’ve had with this incredible organization. It’s amazing what KidSmart does for this community by helping out our kids, and I am extremely proud to have been part of this fantastic experience.
Enough about me...on a much more important note, the Push has only been on for a little over a week, but the drive is already well under way. Last Thursday, Mastercard volunteers stuffed 350 backpacks in less than 2 hours! That’s about a backpack every 20 seconds! Each backpack contained a pack of pencils, crayons, markers, notebook paper, colored pencils, an eraser, a glue bottle, a supply box, a pair of scissors, and a ruler. Wow! That’s a lot of supplies! GoSpa! Opening Benefits KidSmart
Christy is back with another guest blog entry...read about the Grand Opening of GoSpa! in Creve Coeur last night and how it benefitted KidSmart…
Last night was the Grand Opening of GoSpa! in Creve Coeur from 5 to 8 pm. Jennifer (our President) and I attended, what fun!! Everyone who attended was asked to donate a box of markers or crayons to KidSmart. GoSpa! provided fabulous appetizers from Holleyberry well as mini Tension Trouncer Mass”ahh”ages and Mineral Make-Up Refreshers. I got a make-up refresher and a pedicure, it was wonderful! Thank you to GoSpa for naming KidSmart the beneficiary of the Grand Opening. The supplies collected last night will make the first days of school so much brighter for hundred of kids in need here in our community!
Throughout the month of August the GoSpa! locations in Creve Coeur and Des Peres are offering 5% off of any service to customers who bring a package of crayons or markers to their appointments. Take advantage of this exciting offer, and make sure to bring all your girlfriends!!

KidSmart in the news!

And the totals are…
I have some numbers for you today…
As you know, last Friday was the first day that teachers could shop for supplies for their students. Here are some powerful totals:
- 113 Teachers shopped for their classrooms and walked away with
- 184 packs of markers
- 1,494 notebooks of paper
- and over $62,000 dollars worth of supplies for St. Louis students
For the FIRST day of shopping, these numbers are pretty amazing! Thank you again to everyone who helps KidSmart make this possible!
