KidSmart Night at the Blues Game is a Hit!

KidSmart sends a huge thank you to Eric and Rebecca Brewer and the entire St. Louis Blues organization!  KidSmart Night at the Blues Game was a wonderful opportunity for fans of both hockey and education to give back to our local kids in need.  The Blues hosted a supply drive at all entrances where fans could drop off new school supplies and receive raffle tickets for a chance to win the following items: an autographed jersey, a set of tickets, and an autographed hockey stick.  There was a large banner for kids of all ages to sign and state what they wanted to be when they grow up.  The Blues also ran both a silent auction, which consisted of lots of St. Louis Blues memorabilia, and a “grab bag” table, full of future game tickets or autographed hockey pucks!!  All proceeds went to our organization.  KidSmart night at the Blues game raised $8,340, and also generated incredible awareness of the need that exists for educational materials and school supplies to over 83,000 kids in the Metropolitan area!

Blues captain Eric Brewer and wife Rebecca, generously hosted a fabulous evening in a suite for our 2009 Angel Character Award recipients.  Our recipients were treated to Eric and Rebecca’s company, given a Blues duffle bag full of goodies, food, drinks, and dessert.  Louie (the Blues mascot) even made a special trip to visit the kids, while they enjoyed a magical night.

A very special THANKS to all of our amazing volunteers who went above and beyond to say thanks to our fans and spent their Saturday night giving their invaluable time to our cause.  As always, we could not do it without each and everyone of you!

Check back early next week for pictures of the fun and exciting night!!
