Great photos, great video and great blog, Shirey.  You have done an amazing job this summer as a super star KidSmart intern.  Thank you for spending your summer as a vital member of the KidSmart team!

As your last official day at KidSmart is tomorrow, Thursday, August 7, I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how invaluable you have been to KidSmart, Push for Pencils, our 45,000 KidSmart Kids, and to the entire St. Louis Community.

Your time, talent, and energy are so very much appreciated.  Thank you for giving so generously of yourself.  You will be missed...Please come back to visit often!

The video would have more impact if it focused on the children who will benefit from the supplies, rather than the teacher.  My organization donates supplies all year long and the reason we have such high participation is because we focus all our conversations, presentations, and ‘advertisements’ on the children.

Thank you Margaret for your comment and suggestions.  We completely agree.  KidSmart’s mission is to empower kids in need to succeed in school by providing the necessary tools for learning.  The children we serve are always our focus and priority.

The point of this video, however, was simply to convey the morning festivities, how much fun we had kicking off Push for Pencils, and the teachers’ excitement about collecting supplies for their students.  As a result of this event, teachers walked away with nearly $62,000 worth of supplies to give to their students in just one day.
