KidSmart Volunteers
The KidSmart Free Store is run entirely with volunteer help from dedicated community members just like you.
KidSmart Volunteers:
- Sort donations
- Stock shelves
- Assist shoppers with check-in and check-out
- Plan special events
- Help with fundraising
- Help with "Push for Pencils"
- Work on mailing projects
- Host Taste & Tours
- Help in a variety of ways
There are a number of opportunities for individuals or groups to get involved, whether it is an ongoing commitment or a one-time project.
Individual Volunteer Opportunities
We need volunteers for the following positions:
Stock Clerks
Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Take donations, sort product, re-bundle bulk items, stock and straighten shelves, create displays, and perform general housekeeping duties.
Store Assistants
Monday through Thursday 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Help teachers when shopping for free supplies. Answer questions and explain shopping procedures and requirements. Assist them in completing our check-out form.
Taste & Tour Hosts
Selected Mondays 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Invite friends, co-workers, relatives to come for a free lunch and tour of KidSmart. This is not a fundraiser. For more information about Taste & Tours, click here.
Special Event Planning
Help needed October through April. Hours are flexible.
Fundraising Support
Year round help needed. Hours are flexible.
"Push for Pencils" Logistical Support
Help needed June through September. Hours are flexible.
